Vibram Fivefingers — A Few Days Later

Some thoughts on the Vibram FiveFingers Sprints, after 5 days of wearing them out and about.

My walking stride sucks, really, really bad. I walk on my heels (something I knew anyway, the heels on all my shoes get wrecked really quick) and that’s been causing me a few problems with the VFF’s.

Firstly, it’s just not comfortable heel striking when the only cushioning you have is 4mm of rubber. My right achilles tendon has been a bit sore over the last two days, but again that’s understandable, my ankles and tendons just aren’t used to the pressure of walking on concrete with nothing to absorb the impact.

My walking strike does seem to have changed today, and it’s more a lot easier on the ankle. I’ve not tried running in them at all yet, maybe give it a go next week once my tendons are up to the job.

Also, man, they’re already starting to smell pretty damned nasty.

I’ll post photos as and when I can be bothered.

Again, I got my VFF Sprint’s from The Foundry.

Vibram Fivefingers

Just got a new pair of black Vibram Fivefingers Sprints from The Foundry. Mega comfortable so far. Will post more once I’ve had a few days in them.
